Okay I gotta be honest… I can’t even keep up posting once a week on my blog that used to do in the beginning. I know for some once a week doesn’t mean like anything, but I personally can’t keep up with that. So, from now I’m going to post whenever I feel like I have the time to sit down and write it. Which will be maybe once every other week. English is not my first language, which means it does take a bit more time to write my posts, but I know they’ll be beneficial to more people that way. Let’s be done with the rambling now, I just felt like I wanted to clarify that. But for today post, it’s all about a great Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream.
This my first time ever trying anything from Covergirl, as it’s not available where I live. Luckily, I got my sister to pick it up for while she was in the US. I’ve had this for quite some time, so I definitely know how I feel about it. I’ve been really enjoying using it lately and felt like it deserved a post of its own.
My skintype: Oily & Acneprone
Ingredients: Water / Eau, Cyclopentasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Talc, Dimethicone, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Sodium Chloride, PEG / PPG-18 / 18 Dimethicone, PVP, Silica, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylonitrile / Methyl Methacrylate / Vinylidene Chloride Copolymer, Trihydroxystearin, Arachidyl Behenate, Methicone, Sodium Benzoate, Synthetic Wax, Hexyl Laurate, Cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate, Ethylene Brassylate, Behenic Acid, Polyethylene. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.
Shades: There are six shades in total, whereas I got the middle shade 530 “Light/Medium”. I’m a NC30, and this shade work pretty well for me. It’s a bit light when first applied, but it does oxidize a bit so it ends up matching me.
Coverage: The coverage is actually quite nice considering it’s a BB Cream. I would say this has about a medium coverage.
Longevity: I feel like BB Creams don’t work that well for days, when you want your makeup to stay on all day. This surprisingly looked great on my skin for many hours, and not cakey at all, which I was so surprised about. It doesn’t last as long as my foundations, as it does wear off in some place, but not bad at all.
Oil-Control: I think the oil controlling properties does vary… If I’m setting the BB Cream with a finishing powder, I get oily within 3 hours. But if I set it with a good oil controlling powder I can get away with a 4+ hours before blotting. But even when I get oily it doesn’t make my skin look all horrible or cakey, so that’s a big plus in my book.
Packaging: Packaging is very simple. It comes in a sleek, white tube that makes dispensing the product very easy. The tube contains 30 ml./1 fl. oz.
Price: As always, the price does vary depending on your location. The average price would probably lay between 6-7 USD. So, it’s super affordable, and will fit into everyone’s budget.
Look & Feel: The texture is not too thick, or thin. It’s just right. It feels lightweight on the skin and does deliver a semi-matte finish without making your skin look flat. It blends into my skin gorgeously, whether I use a sponge or a brush. I like to mix it up depending on what tool I feel like using. I do get a little bit extra coverage with a brush.
As you can tell I’m pretty excited about this BB Cream, which makes me even happier that I have two of them. I usually don’t buy that many BB creams, I’m more of a foundation girl, but I would happily buy this again.
