Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream Review

Okay I gotta be honest… I can’t even keep up posting once a week on my blog that used to do in the beginning. I know for some once a week doesn’t mean like anything, but I personally can’t keep up with that. So, from now I’m going to post whenever I feel like I have the time to sit down and write it. Which will be maybe once every other week. English is not my first language, which means it does take a bit more time to write my posts, but I know they’ll be beneficial to more people that way. Let’s be done with the rambling now, I just felt like I wanted to clarify that. But for today post, it’s all about a great Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream.

This my first time ever trying anything from Covergirl, as it’s not available where I live. Luckily, I got my sister to pick it up for while she was in the US. I’ve had this for quite some time, so I definitely know how I feel about it. I’ve been really enjoying using it lately and felt like it deserved a post of its own.

My skintype: Oily & Acneprone

Ingredients: Water / Eau, Cyclopentasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Talc, Dimethicone, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Sodium Chloride, PEG / PPG-18 / 18 Dimethicone, PVP, Silica, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylonitrile / Methyl Methacrylate / Vinylidene Chloride Copolymer, Trihydroxystearin, Arachidyl Behenate, Methicone, Sodium Benzoate, Synthetic Wax, Hexyl Laurate, Cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate, Ethylene Brassylate, Behenic Acid, Polyethylene. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.

Shades: There are six shades in total, whereas I got the middle shade 530 “Light/Medium”. I’m a NC30, and this shade work pretty well for me.  It’s a bit light when first applied, but it does oxidize a bit so it ends up matching me.

Coverage: The coverage is actually quite nice considering it’s a BB Cream. I would say this has about a medium coverage.

Longevity: I feel like BB Creams don’t work that well for days, when you want your makeup to stay on all day. This surprisingly looked great on my skin for many hours, and not cakey at all, which I was so surprised about. It doesn’t last as long as my foundations, as it does wear off in some place, but not bad at all.

Oil-Control: I think the oil controlling properties does vary… If I’m setting the BB Cream with a finishing powder, I get oily within 3 hours. But if I set it with a good oil controlling powder I can get away with a 4+ hours before blotting. But even when I get oily it doesn’t make my skin look all horrible or cakey, so that’s a big plus in my book.

Packaging: Packaging is very simple. It comes in a sleek, white tube that makes dispensing the product very easy. The tube contains 30 ml./1 fl. oz.

Price: As always, the price does vary depending on your location. The average price would probably lay between 6-7 USD. So, it’s super affordable, and will fit into everyone’s budget.

Look & Feel: The texture is not too thick, or thin. It’s just right. It feels lightweight on the skin and does deliver a semi-matte finish without making your skin look flat. It blends into my skin gorgeously, whether I use a sponge or a brush. I like to mix it up depending on what tool I feel like using. I do get a little bit extra coverage with a brush.

As you can tell I’m pretty excited about this BB Cream, which makes me even happier that I have two of them. I usually don’t buy that many BB creams, I’m more of a foundation girl, but I would happily buy this again.

  1. This was my go to product last summer! I love how light-weight it is and surprisingly good coverage! I definitely understand how much pressure there is sometimes to write and post on a regular schedule. I feel that stress a lot but you can only do what you can do! It’s your blog so you should be able to post & write as freely as you want. xo

    1. I love using it in the summertime as well 😀 It doesn’t feel heavy, but as you say, does provide enough coverage. I just can’t help comparing my effort to those, who does blog post several times a week. But I also know I started this blog for fun purposes, and not for something that I feel forced or stressed out by. Thank you for the encouraging words ❤

  2. I want to try this and some of Covergirls other stuff so they need to get their act together and go cruelty free. Also, don’t stress about “just” posting once a week. Sometimes real life has to come first. It’s so amazing that you write perfect English when it’s not your first language! Keep up the good work! What is your first language?

    1. That is quite unfortunate :/ Let’s hope they do. You’re so sweet – thank you ❤ I have too much going on with school, assignments and work, so I do find it difficult to keep up with once a week. I like putting some time and effort into my post, so I really appreciate seeing such sweet comments like yours. My first language is Danish 🙂 But we start learning english quite early in elementary school.

  3. I want tontry this as I prefer really light coverage.. I’ve never even paid attention to the voverfirl stand. This sounds great hope there is one for normal/ dry skin too. I haven’t blogged in forever , it does get overwhelming when you feel you have to upload, you’ve made a good decision, blog when you can xx

    1. Some days I just want something with a lighter coverage and a light feeling, and I find this perfect for those days 🙂 So far they only have this in a Matte Version as far as I know, but maybe try looking around. I’m not that familiar with Covergirl product, but they may have a BB Cream for your skintype. I’ll definitely stick to writing post, whenever I have the time, instead of stressing myself out ❤

  4. Hi Noreen, I am Elena from Blogerize, I tried to get in touch with you via your contact details regarding a collaboration, as I didn’t get any reply I simply wanted to say hi here. Should you be open for collaborations I would be happy to hear back from you at elena@blogerize.com. If that is of no interest for you I wish you happy blogging 🙂

    1. Hi Elena
I did read your mail, and forgot to reply back. I’m so sorry! I’m quite satisfied with the way my blog is at the moment, and I’m not planning on being self-hosted just yet. But I’ll definitely keep you in mind, once I do 🙂

  5. Ok wow. I am really stunned by your beautiful layout. It is really gorgeous and obviously you put so much wirk into it. One can really see that you absolutely love what you do. 🙂

It is really inspiring to stumble over blogs like yours – and I admit to a small bit of envy because your blog is so beautiful and I want mine to be as stunning as yours too 🙂 – because the reader can feel all that love and dedication the writer has. And I feel really motivated too, because I want to work hard to achieve something like your blog too.

I also want to compliment your writing style. Most of the time I took the fact that posts are written in English for granted, and forgot the hard work non-native-speakers – and of course native speakers too – put into writing these texts. Now that I am a blogger myself, and know the feeling of trying really hard to have grammatically correct English and using a variety of words and expressions, I have to give my praise to anyone doing the same. ❤

I hope that one day, someone will feel the same admiration when looking at my work that I feel right now, seeing your blog and reading your posts. ❤

Sorry for the long rant. I just got really inspired so… I`ll just shut up now.

    1. Please don’t ever shut up 😂❤️ This is one of the sweetest comment anyone has ever left me. Thank you so much! 💕 I can litterally feel your kindness through my phone! I did see your post on the Manhattan polish, and it was really good and in depth. Your photos were so nice as well, so there’s no need to feel envy ❤️ I do put time and effort in to these post, so knowing they don’t go unnoticed means so much to me. Truly! Thank you again, and I’m looking forward to reading more from you ❤️❤️❤️

  6. I completely understand about trying to stay on track with a regular posting schedule, I started with a goal of 3-5 times a week….I know, baby blogger dreams. Now I’m lucky if I get around to doing twice a month. There is so much more work than I initially thought. Keep doing what you love to do when you do it.

      1. Exactly, it’s not until you jump in to the deep end that you realise oh, I get this now.. 😮 Sometimes though it helps coming across something, like your post for myself, to help motivate me. Thank you for your post and for taking the extra time to translate your posts in English.

    1. Yes exactly! As long as I know people are reading my posts, and find them helpful I’ll be more then happy to continue in English. Makes everything worth it ❤ Btw is there any way I can follow you through WordPress? I was looking around you're blog, but weren't able to find it :/

    1. I think this will be perfect for you then, as we have the same skintype 🙂 I don’t always enjoy want to put foundation on, as I want something a bit lighter but still with some coverage. I was highly impressed with this 😀 I hope you can find your shade, I know they 6 in total.

  7. Sometimes I feel I place too much pressure on myself to write 2 posts a week but I’m currently on holidays so it’s not too difficult but I had to stop altogether while I was at uni this last semester because I couldn’t study, work and have family time with a blog. Do what feels right for you and don’t place too much pressure on yourself.

Loved your review of this B.B. Cream 🙌

    1. Yeah I think the biggest factor is that I’m studying at the same time, and then working when I have any sparetime. So it’s a bit hard to fit some blogging in. I think I may have underestimated how much time it would take if I had to upload once or twice each week. I’m surely gonna do what feels comfortable ❤ Thank you so much for the encouragement, and kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed my review ❤

  8. Hold up, English is not your first language? I would have never guessed! Girl, your English is excellent! 👍 I totally know how you feel, about the pressure to regularly post. You post fun and entertaining content, so it’s always a joy to read. Whether you get the chance to post once a week or every other week, do you, boo. Keep up the great work! ❤

    1. Thank you Babe ❤ It's not, but we do learn English at an early age in elementary school 🙂 I'm so happy to have your support! I won't be forcing myself to post on my blog, but instead whenever I feel like I have the time and motivation to do so 🙂

  9. I have always read good reviews of this BB cream! I like BB creams so much better for the summer. I may end up trying this one out finally next year.

Your English is perfect!! But I totally understand how it would be harder and more time consuming to write in what’s not your first language. Also, don’t worry about not posting as much. I think we all go through it where real life has to take precedence over the blog, as much as we’d love to update more frequently!

    1. For summer BB Creams are the way to go! Well CC Creams as well, but I do find those types of products to be very similar anyways 😀 It does takes me a bit more time considering I have to be aware of spelling, and grammar as well. But I hope I’m doing all right hahaha 😀 Real life does take over sometimes, and wish I had the time to upload frequently on here, but you know there are stuff I have to prioritize first ❤

  10. I’ve been meaning to try this out since I’ve heard people rave about it everywhere. Glad I got to know your thoughts on it – I may pick it up the next time I run out of my current BB cream! Great post – as always 🙂 I nominated you for both the Versatile Blogger and Blogger Recognition awards!!
