Brilliant Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Surprise, surprise today’s post is about food. I know this a beauty blog, but I might just change things up a bit every once in a while. If you have read my Youtubers I Love Watching – Foodies & Beauty Gurus you know that I watch many food related videos, and that I’m pretty much obsessed with food. I wanted to share a recipe for a delicious banana bread. I haven’t always had the best relationship with bananas, especially when I was younger. I hated everything that had a banana taste, and I would not for my life eat a plain banana. When I got older I started eating them more often, but maybe too often. So, for a period of time I started hating them again. But I’ve learned it’s all about quantity – not too often or too little is perfect. Why do I always start a rant? I just wanted to say that this is a super easy recipe, that anyone can make, it tastes freaking amazing and only requires basic ingredients. This recipe is by Anne au Chocolat, but I’ve just left out the Peanut Butter. Feel free to add it if you like. So, if you like banana and love cake this recipe is going to be perfect for you.

  • 125 g / ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 g/ 1 ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 banana
  • 100 g / 3.5 oz. chocolate of choice (I used dark chocolate)
  • Optional: Peanut butter, Walnuts.

Guiding you through the recipe step by step

Start out by mixing/whipping the softened butter with the sugar with an electric mixer until it’s creamed together, then add one egg at a time and mix. Add half of the flour, switch to a spatula and mix. After that I added the rest of my flour along with the baking powder and vanilla sugar. Mash up the banana real good and add it to the mixture. Now is also the time to add your chocolate. Mix everything together, without over mixing. Make sure to grease your tin and pour the batter into your loaf tin (Mine was aproximately 25 x 10 x 7 cm or 12 x 4 x 3 in). Bake the cake at 180 C°/350 F° for approximately 30 min. Stick a toothpick in the cake after 25 minutes to check if it’s done baking or if it needs a few more minutes. Your toothpick should come out clean. That’s it!

I made a double batch since we like eating a lot of cake well just food in general in my house. This banana bread is super simple to make, while tasting so delish. If you do try it out, please do share your thoughts with me.

What kind of dessert do you enjoy the most?
