For the longest time I haven’t been that person that paid too much attention to my hair. But I’m slowly starting to get better at taking care of it and treat it with some love. For this post I wanted to review some hair masks, that I received, from Davines. Back in February I was invited to an event, where these hair masks were introduced.
We got to hear about the concept behind these different masks and what separates them from each other.
To go along with this new collection, they’ve made some Virtual Reality videos to match each mask, which I think is the coolest thing. These types of videos create the illusion that you’re a part of video through 3D images. I believe they said something about, when you were at the hair salon, you could watch these videos while getting your hair taken care of. Just check out one of the videos below;
Davines is a brand founded by a family in Italy I 1983. I’ve tried several of their products and as soon as I started using them, I could sense the quality that are put into each product. The masks are available in some hair salons that carries Davines and retails for 60 DKK in Denmark. For my international readers I’ve found out that Cultbeauty carries these masks as well and retails for 8 GBP. The idea behind The Circle Chronicles were to address different hair care concerns and seeing results fast. My hair is complicated as it needs moisture in some section and in others it doesn’t. With these I can “multi-mask” and use different masks for different sections of your hair.
My hairtype: Semi-long, very fine, oily roots and dry ends.
Each mask comes in such pretty, designed pouches which you open up at the top. Because my hair is so fine I can actually get 3 uses out of each pouch, and the opening makes it easy to save for another time. One pouch contains 50 ml. They all work in less than 10 minutes, but when you love them as much as I do I always stretch the working time a little bit – I’ve had no issues doing this.
The name for this mask is perfect as you only need to let it work for 3 minutes. It contains red clay and hyaluronic acid, which will add moisture and softness to the hair in only a few minutes. I did wear this for 20 minutes, and it rinsed off very easily. I wish it provided my hair with some volume, but I feel like there was good balance between the cleansing and moisturizing properties.

The spotlight mask adds extra shine to your hair and contains Moringa oil. It does deliver shine to my hair without making it look oily as well as adding some bounce to it. It’s also supposed to enhance your hair color, which I’m not too sure if I notice a difference in.

This one was probably one of my favorites among the bunch. I have oiliest roots out there, and I always feel like most hairmasks out there are focused on moisturizing the hair. This mask contains bamboo charcoal and matcha tea, which will cleanser your hair and scalp. My roots felt lovely and removed of all the excess oils, and I could enjoy my non-greasy hair for next few days.

Okay this didn’t work for me initially, as I found it was too moisturizing. This mask is meant to restore damaged hair and make it look shiny. It contains yellow clay and babassu butter. Since my hair is almost constantly oily I really don’t need to add that much moisture, especially in my roots. I really should’ve thought of it before, but I applied the mask from root to tip and left it on for 20 minutes. As soon as I rinsed my hair it looked nice and soft, but after a few hours my roots looked so oily. I find the best way to use the renaissance mask is to only use it on my ends, as it makes my hair look too greasy otherwise.

This mask provides energy and volume to your hair and contains purple clay and rhodiola rose extract. The scent of this was so refreshing and I loved how the scent lingered in my hair all day. The mask was moisturizing to my hair without overdoing it. I also noticed my hair looking and feeling more volumized than usual, both in my roots as well as in my ends.

You can probably feel my excitement about these masks through the screen. I love how each hair mask has their individual purpose, and how I can mix & match them according to my needs. The pouch packaging makes them easy to store and even easier to travel with or keep in your gym bag. The best part about them is that I can close up the opening, so I don’t feel obligated to use it all when my hair only really need 1/3 of amount that is in the pouch.
