If you spend an adequate amount scrolling through your Instagram feed you’ve most likely seen these blue gummies pop up. I know I have and for several years! I was super skeptical and even critical about these vitamins, but of course I wanted to stay openminded and give them a fair chance. I was gifted a bottle of these hair vitamins that contains 60 gummies, which are meant to last you for one full month.
My hairtype: Very fine, thin & oily.
Ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin B-6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B-12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Iodine, Zinc, Choline, Inositol, as the active vitamins and minerals. The gummies are made with real berries for a deliciously sweet flavor, coconut oil, and a dash of sugar.
Here is some quick information & facts about the vitamins taken from their official site:

My Experience: So, you’re supposed to eat 2 hair gummies a day for 30 days. Let me just say how bad I was at remembering to eat them every day and unfortunately, I was quite inconsistent with them. The ordinary hair vitamins that comes in a pill form I have a hard time swallowing as they can be quite large. So it was quite nice that all you had to do was just eat these. They have quite a sweet fruity/berry taste to them, but I did find they were too sweet and that they had a slight artificial aftertaste. But I would rather eat one of these gummies, than to swallow a huge pill. After that month was over I wasn’t expecting to really see any noticeable results. I do have a couple of babyhairs that doesen’t really blend in with the rest of my hair, so I tend to pluck those out. To my surprise I noticed my baby hairs at my hairline grew out quicker than usual and it almost looked like a couple of extra hairs had grown out as well. Now the results were very subtle, and I didn’t really notice any difference in the rest of my hair. But I’m also to blame as I wasn’t consistent with the vitamins. I also find it hard to judge a product based solely on 30 days especially when the journey to achieving “better” hair takes much longer.
One thing people also must remember is that the vitamins are a supplement and probably won’t make your hair go from 0-100 from one day to the other, but perhaps improve your hair over a longer period. I personally see the vitamins as something that will compliment a healthy lifestyle, and they happen to specifically have ingredients that are beneficial for the hair.
Overall Thoughts: One of the reason why I’ve been so skeptical partially has to do with the way these are endorsed. You see The Kardashians, IG models and other celebrities, taking photos while holding up the gummy bear and smiling. They tell you all the amazing results you’ll achieve if you get them and praising them to the sky. This way of advertisement is not something I believe in. In my mind I know they’re getting a fat paycheck to endorse the vitamins. That’s why I rather turn to micro influencers or “regular” people to see how they experience a product, that is being hyped by celebrities/influencers. I’m not trying to call out Sugarbear on this way of promotion, cause there’s so many companies, like 80-90%, that do the same. But it was still something that I felt needed to be said.
On a more positive note I think it’s great to see how this brand interacts with their customers on social media and how open they are to answer any questions you might have or concerns that needs to be dealt with. They seem like a friendly & very professional company. I also love how much effort they’ve put into their site e.g. sharing both positive & critical reviews as well as explaining the benefits of each ingredient to the average consumer, which you can read here. Also thumbs up for them for being creative and creating an original product, as I do believe they were the first company to create such chewable hair vitamins. The product does contain lots of ingredients that are beneficial to your hair and nails and the fact that they’re sweet chewable vitamin makes them more appealing particularly for those who hates traditional pills.
