One Brand Review – Breaking Beauty w/ Wet’ n Wild

*Reklame/Gifted Products*

I’m very excited to be writing this post on some products I have been testing from Wet n Wild. It’s probably a brand the majority of you know, but I was recently sent a package with some of their newer releases. The cool thing about WnW is that they’re putting out products for a very low price point, while still providing products that are quite nice quality wise. They are a cruelty free brand who are striving to make all of their products vegan. Most of them already are and they’re working on changing the formula on those products that aren’t. For my Danish readers WnW products can be purchased at Normal and at Luxplus. Let me show you the different products I’ve been trying out lately;

Ultimate Brow Retractable Pencil (Ash Brown)

Brow pencils is my favorite product to use on my brows on a everyday basis. It’s quick, easy and gives me the most natural look. One of my favorite prow pencils is either the Brow Definer or Brow Wiz by Anastasia Beverly Hills. This one actually performs very similar to the Brow Definer and I may even say it’s a dupe. It has the same triangular shape plus the it has the same stiff consistency.

You can also create very thin strokes or fill in larger, sparse areas. I was already very impressed with its performance from the first time I used it. It’s dual ended where you get the brow product in one end and a spoolie in the other to comb through your brows. I received this in the shade “Ash Brown” which goes well for brown eyebrows and to my surprise matches my dark, black brows as well.

MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Eyeshadow (Cashmere Love & Gun Metal)

These liquid eyeshadows are not some I’ve ever really noticed before, but I was excited to try them out. The applicator is a doe foot and is very easy to use. The eyeshadow itself is not something I’m too pleased with. It felt wet when I first applied it and it did not blend well on the lids, it was quite patchy.

The swatches came out quite pigmented when I swatched them, but they definitely need several layers to look the same way on the eyes. I also find that I can’t just swipe and blend it on to my lids as I wouldn’t see much color but just a lots of shimmer. Instead you have to use a patting motion and have patience to build the intensity. I guess you can make these work, but you gotta put some effort into making them look as good as they do in the tube.

Color Icon Eyeshadow 10 Pan Palette (Nude Awakening)

The product I was most excited to try out was without a doubt the eyeshadow palette. I already own some of the eyeshadows from WnW and I’ve been very pleased each time. Just in general I feel like they’re improving their eyeshadow formula as time goes by, which makes me quite happy. This is an easy carry-on palette with 10 shades. The pans are small, but I’m still impressed that they’ve squeezed in 10 different shades in such a small palette. The shades in here are quite neutral and suitable for an everyday look, which are the shades I tend to use the most. I feel like the shades blend quite well on the lids and also has a decent staying power.

I put this on in the morning and went to work and wore the shadows on my eyes for 8 hours. I did use a primer underneath and I saw no creasing at all, however I did notice the shadows weren’t looking as intense as they did in the morning, but I can accept that after so many hours. I’m really enjoying the matte shades; however, I wish the shimmers would pop more. Spritzing my makeup brush did help intensify the shimmers. One thing that it worth to mention is, that there’s something about their formulas which make the shadows powdery. I don’t see it affect the performance but makes sure to tap off any excess before you start blending.

MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipstick (Acai So Serious & Life’s No Pink-nic)

I’ve actually stopped purchasing liquid lipsticks as they’re not really my cup of tea as I much more prefer the feeling of the classic, bullet lipsticks. But of course I wanted to test out these properly. I have seen quite nice reviews of the original matte catsuit lipsticks they came out with and I can imagine that the formula is the same as these Metallic ones. It has a doe foot applicator which really helps with a precise application.

I’m seriously so bad at applying liquid lipsticks, but to my surprise this one went on so effortlessly. I got such a precise application, while enjoying the formula as well. It has a matte, metallic finish which feels rather comfortable on the lips. I felt like they were quite pigmented as well and I didn’t need more than one layer. It held up nicely when snacking lightly, but most of it does fade when eating a proper meal.

MegaLast Lipstick (Rose The Matter & Never Nude)

Now the classic bullet lipsticks. These add both pigment and shine to your lips, while being very comfortable and feeling light on the lips. It almost feels like a lipbalm as far as the feel goes.

They don’t stay put when eating or drinking, however they very easy to reapply.

PhotoFocus Setting Spray Natural Finish

Setting spray is really an icing on the cake type of product. I find some setting sprays to make a great difference, while some are just okay. The packaging is quite simple and easy to keep in your bag. It’s not a mattifying or dewy setting spray, but just minimizes the powdery effect and making your makeup blend together. I feel like my makeup holds up very good through the day, it may not be particularly because of this product alone, but could be the combination of my other products along this spray. The mist could for sure be a lot finer, so make sure not to spray too close.

MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter (Halo, Goodbye)

The liquid highlighter has a big, doe foot applicator and applies easily. I don’t use the applicator directly on my face, instead I wipe some on the back of my hand and then using my finger to blend the product onto my skin. I quite like the texture, which feels like a light moisturizer and I enjoy that it doesn’t feel greasy.

46522546_208038520093871_9097416649111240704_n

It is a shimmery highlighter but it’s not too glittery. I think it works really well as an everyday highlighter and if you want to make it pop even more you can add a powder highlighter on top.

MegaGlo Highlighting Powder (Blossom Glow)

The powder highlighter you could add onto the liquid Halo highlighter could very well be this one. I’ve seen so many people post photos of this on Instagram and saying how much they love it.

46525633_281011776095760_9175868985596444672_n

I already own this one, just in a different shade. I feel like there are so many great drugstore highlighters out there and this one is also a really great one. It blends well onto the skin and gives you a beautiful glow.

46888114_1956346424659291_4394060635424423936_n

The shade does appear a bit pale in the pan, but to my surprise it looked nice on my light-medium skintone. It did give me a more cool toned/icy glow, but it still looks very wearable. Both the powder and liquid highlighter are available in other shades as well.

  1. I have that brow pencil and one of the wet n wild color Icon palettes and I love them! I’ll definitely be passing on those liquid eyeshadows though, the swatches look pretty but I’m not willing to put in the effort building them up. The highlighter looks beautiful!

    1. I think the brow pencil will most likely be my go-to as I freaking love it! ❤ The palette is quite nicely for me as well. I don't think I'll be getting that much use out of those liquid eyeshadows either :/ Too much work and I'm not sure if I even like how they look on the lids.

      1. Yeah I would definitely pass on those liquid shadows then, especially if you’re unsure how you feel about them. But I’m glad you enjoyed the other products!

    1. Both the foundations and highlighter are great ❤ The shadow palette was great, but I didn't enjoy those liquid ones. Wet n Wild only recently started selling in Denmark and hopefully they'll do the same in AU 🙂 I'm very curious of getting one of their cushion foundation
