Change Your Hair Color in The Shower? – Björn Axen Color Shots & Body Series

*Reklame/Gifted Products* A while back I attended a Björn Axen event, where we were introduced to some products that the brand was launching. I have attended a Björn Axen event in the past and I always find myself learning new things from the director of the brand, Johan Hellström. A very friendly, kind person that loves to share his knowledge and passion. What I love the most is that you can tell he really cares for his brand and consumers and it shows. I’ve previously written a post on some haircare product from this brand, which you can read by clicking here.

Björn Axen has launched 7 color pigments, Color Shots Wash Out Series, and the entire concept had me intrigued. These color pigments, which are free from ingredients like perfume, silicone & being vegan, are a quick and fun way to change up your hair and an awesome way to try out different colors. It’s a pigment that you mix in with your conditioner and rub onto your hair. Let it sit for 7-15 minutes depending on how intense you want the color and rinse. The really great thing about the pigments is that this not a one-time use product. One tube has enough product to last you for a minimum of 5-10 haircoloring sessions. The color does gradually wash out when you shampoo your hair.

The Color Shots are available in these shades;

Color Shots Wash Out 50 ml – 100 DKK

  • Pink – For blonde, highlighted and ombre hair
  • Lilac Pink – For blonde, highlighted and ombre hair
  • Steel Lavender – For blonde, highlighted and ombre hair
  • Cherry Pop – For dark blonde, light brown and medium brown hair
  • Classic Brown – For dark blonde, light brown and medium brown hair
  • Honey Blonde – For blonde, highlighted and ombre hair
  • Mahogany Brown – For dark blonde, light brown and medium brown hair

This is one of the times where I wish I had lighter hair, so I could try out all of these pigments. I’ve always had love for Grey/Steel Lavender hair. I have very dark brown hair, almost black, and unfortunately the pigments won’t make much of a difference for me. The one shade that may show through, in a subtle way, would be the Cherry Pop color. I’ve actually never colored my hair before and since my hair is so fine and brittle, I’ve just avoided it. But these pigments aren’t as harsh as getting your hair colored the traditional way. The Color Shots contains nourishing ingredients such as sunflower oil and different vitamins. If my hair wasn’t as dark as it is, I would totally jump onto this product.

Björn Axen also released an Organic Body Series, which is something new as I’ve only seen them doing haircare products. This body series consist of 6 different products, whereas 5 of them are vegan.

Organic Body Wash Caring Bergamot & Vanilla 250 ml – 125 DKK

The body wash is targeted towards dry skin as it has a creamier consistency opposed to the body wash from the orange line. When I compare the two, I do notice that difference, as this one does make my skin feel softer and more hydrated than the other. There’s a lovely fragrance of vanilla, citrus and cardamom, which smells freaking great. The product comes in a white, plastic tube that makes dispensing the product very easy. I’m not that picky when it comes to body washes to be honest with you. All I really want from my body wash is to cleanse my skin without stripping it. This does all that while smelling great too, so I’m very happy with its performance. There is also a matching body lotion to this Bergamot & Vanilla line.

Ingredients: Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Peel Oil, Allantoin, Phenoxyethanol, Limonene, Sodium Benzoate, Betaine, Potassium Sorbate, Alcohol, Linalool, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Lactic Acid, Tocopherol, Elettaria Cardamomum Seed oil

Organic Body Oil Caring Bergamot & Vanilla 100 ml – 155 DKK

Using oil on my body after showering feels like a real treat in the cold winter months. Sometimes I add a few drops into a body lotion or I just use it as it is. This body oil smells divine! It has a nice, warm vanilla, nutty scent with a hint of cardamom in there. The scents that are in the entire Body Series are not artificial fragrances, but the scents come from using essential oils instead. I like that the bottle is clear so I’m able to see how much product is left. It contains organic sunflower oil and natural rapeseed oil that provides moisture and softens the skin.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Isoamyl Cocoate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Canola Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Peel Oil, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Elettaria Cardamomum Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Alcohol

Organic Body Wash Energizing Orange 250 ml – 125 DKK

The entire Energizing Orange line has the most wonderful scent. It’s literally smells like freshly picked oranges and has a very realistic scent, if that makes sense. The body wash does contain aloe vera that’ll help moisturize and soothe the skin, while it’s being cleansed. It has a gel consistency that foams up nicely when water is added. Packaging is a simple, plastic tube with a flip cap. I really liked the body wash, as it cleansed by skin without drying it out. The fact that is has such a refreshing, citrus scent just makes the experience better.

Ingredients: Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Limonene, Lactic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Betaine, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium PCA, Magnesium PCA, Manganese PCA, Zinc PCA, Tocopherol

Organic Body Lotion Energizing Orange 250 ml – 155 DKK

I’m the type of person who always moisturize after a shower, well most of the time anyways. I usually prefer heavier consistency moisturizers as a cream or a body butter. This one has a much lighter consistency and feel on the skin. It’s not an intensely moisturizing product but it is targeted towards normal skin, which I think matches the product well. The lotion also contains aloe vera which adds moisture and helps softening the skin. Again, the orange scent is much appreciated with me. It does absorb quickly, and I can get dressed right after. The packaging is in a plastic bottle form which does has a pump, which makes it easier and more convenient to use.

Organic Body Scrub Energizing Orange 250 ml – 135 DKK

Body scrubs are a product I’m getting more into and using more often. I like my scrubs to be coarse and very gritty. This body scrub was the opposite of that. It reminded me more of a lightly exfoliating showergel. The exfoliating grains are fine silica grains that exfoliates the skin in a gentle way. I actually just found out, while writing this post, that you can also use this on your face. I haven’t tried it on my face just yet, but I personally prefer keeping my body – & facescrubs separated. If your skin Is sensitive or you like a very lightly exfoliating scrub, then you’ll enjoy this. If you’re into aggressive scrubs than I would say pass on this. The packaging is the same as the body wash – a simple, plastic tub packaging with a flip cap.
