Natural, Organic Skincare & Bodycare w/ Lavera

*Reklame/Gifted Products*
I like to research a brand, when it’s unknown to me, to figure out what they’re all about. Lavera is a German brand that creates products in a variety of categories such as, skincare, makeup and bodycare. They’re a brand committed to creating “natural” products by utilizing ingredients from nature. I’ve been sent some favorites from their bestselling “Sensitive”-line, which contains flower and plant extracts from certified organic harvestings, a long with pure essential oils.

Most of their products are vegan and gluten free as well. For the Danish readers, Lavera products can be purchased at Helsam, MED24 and Matas (online) to mention a few. For my readers outside of Denmark you’ll be able to find more information here

My skin type: Oily & Acneprone – NC30/Light-Medium

I feel like everyone should have a thick cream in their inventory, no matter your skin type. As the name suggests you can pretty much use this cream for whatever you like. I’ve used it on certain areas where my skin was feeling dry and I’ve also used this as body moisturizer as well as my feet. It works well for all those areas. I don’t see myself using it on my face on a regular basis as it’s quite rich for my already super oily skin, but I would use it whenever I noticed any dry patches. It contains several moisturizing ingredients such as Shea Butter, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil & Aloe Vera.

Since the texture is so rich it would probably suit most people during the winter, but if you have really dry skin, I can see how you can benefit from the cream all year round. When used on the body it almost leaves like a moisturizing, protective layer on top of your skin that lasts all day. There’s no greasy residue left behind, just soft and supple skin. Judging from other people’s reviews, this seems to be one of Laveras best rated products. Something all these products, mentioned in this post, has in common is the scent. To me it smells like tea with a hint of licorice I think it’ll be a hit or miss, some will really like it and some won’t.

 2 IN 1 HAIR AND BODY WASH 200 ML – 50 KR.

I know there are some people who like having products that are multifunctional. I’m not of those people unless when it comes to makeup. But you know what, I always try to have an open mind, so that’s what I did with this as well.  The product has a gel consistency that lathers up nicely and cleanse my hair and body as I would’ve wanted in a bodywash and shampoo. Something that I did find interesting is that on the tube it says “100 % natural fragrance”, but when I’m looking at the ingredients list “Fragrance (Parfum)” is listed there. I did look into this as I had my “Sherlock Holmes Detective Hat” on.  So, the problem was that I had overlooked the small stars added after the mentioning of the ingredient. The two stars made it clear that the fragrance added actually came from natural essential oils. My bad…

Speaking of things, I found interesting was that I found out this product is also pH balanced, which is no where to be seen on the tube. Like why wouldn’t you add that to the information on the tube? I see pH balanced products as something beneficial, as they won’t dry and strip the skin and hair as a non-pH balanced product might would. Seaweed extracts is one of the ingredients listed here too, which is known for having beneficial effects on hair and skin. Seaweed is known for packing different vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It’s also great for soothing and helps with dry hair and scalp. Overall this product wasn’t as bad as I’ve experienced from other 2-1 shower products before. Both my hair and skin felt cleansed and I see this as a great product to bring a long on a trip/vacation to save you some space.

I go through deodorants so quickly, like it’s no joke. I also feel like you’re either a roll-on or a spray type. I never buy roll on deodorants, mostly because I find sprays more hygienic as I can reapply during the day, and they dry instantly. This deodorant is free of alcohol & aluminium salts.  It has a lightweight, creamy formula that does require some drying time.

The calendula and aloe vera in here are both known for calming the skin, and I can use this immediately after shaving without any irritation. The deodorant also contains witch hazel that has antibacterial properties. This worked okay for me, it kept my pits fresh most of the day and kept any gross sweat smells away. I’m still a spray deo kind of girl as I don’t like having to wait for the deodorant to dry. If Lavera made this in a spray form I would consider getting one.

The final products by Lavera is the anti-ageing moisturizer. They recommend using this during the day, I however prefer using this exclusively at nighttime. It’s not very suitable for oily skin types for the daytime, as it’s rich in the moisture department, plus, as I always urge brands to do, I want spf added to a moisturizer that claims to be worn during the day, which does not have contain. The consistency feels quite lightweight at first but once you start blending it onto your face it feels heavier and rich.

I really like the packaging which looks like something I could expect from a high-end brand. It has a glass look but its actually hardy plastic. Some of the ingredients that stood out to me were; Mango Seed Butter, Shea Butter and a blend of different oils a long with Q10. Q10 is an enzyme that is found in many anti-wrinkle products, that helps with the collagen and elastin production. I believe one of the best ways to prevent wrinkles is to take of your skin before the wrinkles appear. For now, I’ve been enjoying using this at night and the fact that it has anti-ageing properties is a plus for me.
