I can’t be the only one who lusts after having glass like skin. It’s a Korean trend where you thrive for clear, poreless, dewy soft looking skin. One way to getting a step closer to having glass skin is through your skincare routine, but if you’re someone who wants that effect right way you can “trick” your way through makeup.
I got to pick out some products from Jolse to try and I immediately knew what kind of products I was interested in, since I had this blogpost in mind. Jolse is a distributor of Korean beauty products, with free worldwide shipping, and as of recently they’ve also started selling some Japanese beauty items as well. I also recently wrote a post about some amazing Korean skincareproduct that you can check out here if interested.
My skintype: Oily & Acneprone, Light-Medium/NC30
I’m a big fan of The Klog who always deliver interesting, informative content. Well this is a primer I noticed on their blog and I knew right away I wanted to try it. One bottle contains 30 ml of product and I use a little over a pump to cover my entire face. The primer instantly makes my skin look dewy and healthier. There are shimmer particles in the formula, but in no way is it glittery.
The consistency feels more like a serum than a traditional primer. I feel like maybe labelling it as a primer is slightly off. I would describe it more as a prep/base product that will provide you with a dewy look. I think similar to a strobe cream is where I’m going. It’s quite unique to any other product I have in my collection as it has a slight violet tint to it, that is able to create a very beautiful finish on the skin.
Once the primer is on, I let it sit for a few minutes before moving on to a tinted base product. I find that this BB Cream does a great job evening out of my skin and cancelling out any redness. It offers a light-medium coverage with one thin layer; however, it builds up to a medium coverage without any issues. The consistency and feel are similar to a moisturizer and it leaves a satin finish.
My acne scars still peek through, but I really don’t mind. I like using a damp sponge to make it blend seamlessly and for the most natural look, but on days where I want more coverage, I go in with a buffing brush. My first impression was that it might be a bit too light, about a ½ shade, but once I let it sit for a bit it does get a tiny bit darker. I would describe it as a light-medium with yellow undertones. This tube contains 50 ml. of product.
All the oily skin people know that setting powder is a must when doing makeup. But since I was going for a more dewy finish, I only lightly dusted some powder in my T-zone and underneath my eyes. So, try to only use a small amount of powder and only in places you feel it’s necessary.
The COSRX powder is finely milled and immediately gets rid of any shine. It leaves the skin feeing smooth and the best part is that it doesn’t look cakey, even if I reapply during the day.
The Holika Holika mist makes the earlier products melt into the skin. I especially like taking my damp sponge after misting and lightly press/tap on the skin.
The mist feels very refreshing and adds some light moisture and deweyness. The nozzle also distributes the mist quite finely, but you should still make sure to spray the face from a distance. I find it has a similar effect and finish to the classic MAC Fix+.
I find all of these products so helpful when I’m going for a glass skin look. These products helps in creating the essential base and you can from here use other makeup products to finish up the entire look. The way you prep your skin also has a huge influence as well, and will have an impact on how your makeup will look. A good moisturizer is always a great idea or even try layering a few hydrating products.
